I had a great Sunday afternoon many years ago at this little island retreat. I had met the owner and his wife months earlier before visiting. I must say that any trip to the Exumas must include a day or two at Chat N Chill on Stocking Island. Great people, great food and great drinks. A fun time to be had by all!
Chat 'N' Chill was very fun, especially for my family. Though, I wish the food came quicker. It was very nice to be able to have an incredible view of the ocean while eating, and it was especially fun to be able to pet the sting rays that live in the part of the ocean connected to the island. It was nice to see a place in Exuma that welcomes cats and dogs to the island! The next time I'm able to visit the Bahamas I definitely know where I will make sure to go!
At the recommendation of a local, we took a cab from Sandals resort in search of this incredible spot. After taking a beautiful water taxi ride, we were greeted with a white sand beach and a delicious pig roast lunch (Sunday special). The bartenders, though busy, made a tasty drinks to add the perfect touch to an amazing afternoon. Also, don’t miss the fresh conch ceviche being served up by Ronaldo!
My all time favorite Bahama restaurant with amazing BBQ, conch, and adult libations!!!
My son and I rented a houseboat for the week, stocked the refrigerator, but once we found the chat n chill we never opened the fridge again other than to get beer
We are every day at the Chat M Chill!
I can’t wait to go back!!!
Interesting little place, and pretty much a "must-stop spot" for anyone visiting Exuma. Get a photo op by the large sign, and grab a drink or two from the bar. The food we had was ok at best, so I'd advise skipping the food entirely.
However, definitely ask about feeding the stingrays, as that was an awesome experience. When we were there, they fed them a bit down the beach, where you'll find a small building and a pile of conch shells. The fisherman were more than happy to provide us with the conch "scraps" to feed the stingrays, and the stingrays are NOT shy...they'll swim right up to you.
Chat N Chill is worth the water taxi fare and the time to get there. The bartenders where fun and attentive to our group. We enjoyed playing bags on the beach. There are no chairs to sit in the sand just picnic tables, so if you are looking to kick back and relax for a while bring a chair or towel to lay out. We did not try the food but they did have a well stocked bar that we did enjoy. Do understand that the water taxis stop at 5:00 PM even though the bar closes at 7 PM.
You have to stop here if you are at George Town. It is a $15 return water taxi from the government dock. The Sunday pig roast is amazing for only $22 you get pork, peas and rice, Mac and Cheese and coleslaw. The food is terrific and the atmosphere is even better. Super friendly people and a great volleyball court. Make a day of it and you will not regret it.
Great atmosphere with a beautiful beach and the kids loved feeding and petting the sting rays. We had burgers, hot dogs, fish and drinks and all were pretty good. The bar was very crowded and they ran out of ice but it was a busy day in July. The cats around the restaurant and island were a fun addition and were very friendly.
One of my favorite parts of Bahamas.
You can feed and swim with the stingrays.
The beach itself is exquisite.
Beach drops off nicely so you can anchor with your stern to the beach with ease. There are plenty of mooring balls.
Fresh Conch.
Bar atmosphere is great.
The shop has beautiful momentoes.
The beach has benches and a few games for rent like Volleyball and Cornhole.
Excellent place just hang out. Water taxi with Elvis quite effective and inexpensive. Catch it by entering the road by Straw Market and park at the docks.
Good drinks, ok food but what you need. Plenty of sitting spots. Don’t miss the friendly sting rays and conch salad preparation on the spot. Great beach.
This place is the best!!! We rented a boat for the day and made our way over late afternoon. Plenty of picnic tables in the shade to enjoy your meal. We had the conch salad and grilled fish which were both excellent. Cool experience with the stingrays swimming right next to the conch stand as they will eat right from your hand if you’re brave enough. Throw your anchor and stay for the afternoon....highly recommended!
We heard from numerous people to check out Chat n Chill on Stocking Island. We took a taxi to the boat dock and a water taxi over. Water taxi was $15 / person for round trip. They run about every 30 minutes and we piled 20+ on the boat. We had a bunch of kids and they were entertained swimming w the sting rays, finding starfish, etc. The parents were able to have drinks and catch up before lunch. Lunch consisted of burgers and whatnot for the kids and we had fresh conch salad. We were there on Sunday when you can pay cash and skip the line to eat BBQ and fixings outside. We paid cash for conch salad directly and would recommend ordering and hanging close so as not to get skipped in line. The rest of the food orders are called out by name over loud speaker. Place got relatively crowded later in the day. For stingrays grab some ‘chum’ behind the conch house. They take cash or card and also have a little gift shop. T shirts are cool and also $45. We stayed the better part of the day and enjoyed the trip. We had to wait on our taxi driver after taking the boat back and walked up to Peace & Plenty.
The Chat 'N' Chill Beach Bar is a destination place for people on boats, and vacationers to Great Exuma Island. Sitting on a beach with powder-soft sand, surrounded by beautiful yachts, and with a great sunset view, it's hard to beat the location. We had the cheeseburger and fries. The food was tasty, reasonably priced, and ready quickly. We got our meal and sat at a picnic table near the very active volleyball courts.
The Chat N' Chill also has specials. Check the Cruiser's Net each morning on VHF 72 at 08:00 to see what is coming up.
Chat N Chill was a great time! We had heard good things so took Elvis’ water taxi over from Georgetown. It was beautiful. Lots of shade to lounge and chill in. Swings, volleyball, & lots of seating. It wasn’t crowded when we went but we had heard it can get crowded. We had delicious frozen daiquiris & awesome conch salad (think fresh ceviche) from a little stand close by. We got some extra conch to feed the stingrays. We spent most of the rest of the time in the water with the rays who were very plentiful & friendly; sometimes brushing up against us in search of food, which was super cool. True to its name, we chilled for a couple of hours in the unbelievably calm water & chatted with other vacationers, learning about other things to do & see. This was a great setting for both families & adults only. It was an overall great experience!
Good food for a small bar on a small island across the channel from Great Exuma. You'll need a boat ride to get there.
Stocking Island is beautiful and peaceful. The beach right by the bar is unbelievably beautiful. We rented an umbrella and chairs and was set up right by the clear water. When we got hungry, we walked a few steps to the bar/grill and ordered food. Sure, it took a while to get our food but we were on island time like the locals. The food was good and hot.
We enjoyed our day trip to the island.
Such a great bar and place to visit every year. We truly enjoy coming back each year to see KB and the family. Do realize where you are and know things move a little slowly down here (relax and chill!!) you will get your fruity drink soon. Enjoy the conch shack with a fresh conch salad the spearfishing man him self Renaldo. Don't miss Sundays BBQ!
Great day trip, beautiful beach. You can rent beach chairs for $20, umbrellas for $30 and a larger shade for $40. The bar opens around noon with food and drinks. The only way to access this island is by water. 4:15/30 is the last A1 water taxi back to Georgetown. Elvis is another water taxi. A1 is $20 cash roundtrip per person. We went on Thursday and it was busy, but not overcrowded. Recommend contacting them on Whatsapp in advance to secure your spot.
Great spot with rays cruising by all the time. Was very crowded on Sunday (for the pig roast I assume). They take credit but if you're just getting the pig roast you can avoid the long food line by getting in the food service line and paying cash ($25). Pig roast was brought in from off island in trays, not cooked on site, but it was decent. Separate line at the bar for drinks. Beers are $6, drinks reasonable, no frozen drinks that day for some reason.
Chat and Chill is "shack" restaurant on Stocking island. The only way to get to it is by boat. There is a water taxi service that leaves the Georgetown dock every hour on the hour from around 8:00am-6:00pm. The food is great for being on a island and bbq on site. The Sunday pig roast is a must do and there is typically a conch salad hut working on the weekends. At the Hut you can get scraps to feed the rays. It is a awesome experience!
We couldn't go out because the water was choppy so we ended up spending the day here. It is on a small beach and they have fresh conch salad and the same food you would find at a fish fry. Good service and staff on an beautiful beach. They have volleyball, cornhole and hammocks around. Prices were same as any tourist trap, $10 drinks, $20 plates. There is a gift shop that was recently added where they sell merch. I wanted to pick up a t-shirt but the pricing is completely ridiculous, double Disney prices! T Shirts are $50+ and sweatshirts $90+. Lots of items we're on clearance starting at $90 marked down from over $130+. You didn't see anyone with shirts since it was so expensive. Based on the level of interest it would be easy for them to sell out of them were appropriately priced. Overall an amazing place and is come back and recommended this as a most visit location in Exuma.
We live on a boat as a family and have been here a while waiting for chat n chill to open. We are so thrilled it did. We enjoyed a nice Friday afternoon and a Sunday pig roast.
The food is great. As far as the pig roast... its not a big event with the food, just a buffet style for food. Being from Texas is was good, but not Texas good. But you'll love it. Enjoy the drinks and the atmosphere. There is so much to do here.
Wandering Knapps
Chat N Chill is a must stop while visiting George Town or Stocking Island. The atmosphere is very lively and there are lots of kids, so if you’re looking for a relaxing kid-free experience, this is not it. We had dinner and drinks with one of the resident cats, which was great! There is a water taxi from George Town and plenty of dinghy parking if you’re coming from your boat.
Boated over for a relaxing vibe and drink as recommended by many. The service was efficient and friendly. Our bartender was personable and very good with recommending options based on different flavor profiles. We ordered the Bahama Mama, and the Goomba Smash. We did see the food options but didn't try any as the people at the table near us said they had to wait quite a long time. There was beach volleyball and plenty of seating area to feel relaxing but social. The only downside was if you were driving your own boat, the landing areas were hard to find with all the mini skiffs and tourist boats. We just anchored and walked in from waste deep water. The souvenir shop was very overpriced and didn't have much. It's still a great place to stop and have a drink to chat with other vacationers.
We read you have to try Chat N Chill if you go to Exuma, and we can confirm this is absolutely true. So thankful we went! Great family friendly place with great drinks and food. Our kids loved feeding the stingrays. Freshest conch salad ever. They literally pluck the conch out of the water and harvest it in front of you!
Chat ‘N’ Chill is a must-visit when you’re in Exuma. It offers the perfect laid-back island vibe that invites you to slow down and stay awhile. Whether you plan to hang out for a few hours or spend the whole day, it’s easy to relax here—wade in the shallow, crystal-clear waters with a drink in hand or take a walk and explore the area.
The food is solid—not over-the-top amazing, but definitely satisfying. The fresh conch, made to order, is a highlight and the prices are very reasonable.
If you’re visiting with kids, there’s plenty to keep them entertained like beach volleyball and cornhole. I’d recommend bringing a football or some snorkel gear to give them more to do. Need to unwind even more? There’s usually someone offering massages right on the beach.
One heads-up: bring cash. Their credit card machine wasn’t working during our visit. And I understand coolers are highly discouraged.
All in all, another great experience at Chat ‘N’ Chill. Highly recommend if you’re looking to relax, recharge, and enjoy a true island atmosphere.
If you are in Exuma, you should visit! Pay Elvis for a ride from Georgetown and plan to stay! Tell the bartender you are there to celebrate Kwanzaa - I dare you. ;)
Hang out. Have a drink. Go for a swim. My wife and kids swam - with a nurse shark! (Nurse sharks are harmless!) More acutely- a nurse shark swam up to my wife and kids.
GET THERE! Relax. Buy a unique hat or t-shirt. You came this far - you should enjoy some ribs or a burger!
If you're looking for a sweet place for drinks with friends, a chance to meet new people or a taste of island nature, come by the Chat and Chill. Wading in the ocean we were hanging out with stingrays and even spotted wild dolphins about 50 feet from us. With sunday pig roasts, loud music and a conch shack, this is the place to be!
We spent our first full day in exuma on stocking island. It was a blast! First we had conch salad on the beach which was super yummy. And if your looking for stingrays this is the place to go. They were all over even if you didn't have food to feed them they still came up to u!
all the drinks were delish! We then had the BBQ ribs which were extremely good! (We raise our own pork and are very picky about our ribs etc) but I'm telling you the ribs are amazing! Can't wait to go back this Sunday for the pig roast!
This place is an absolute must on Sundays for the pig roast. You will definitely spend more time here than you think. Beautiful spot and spectacular food. they have a gift shop as well and fun games and things to do. Watch out for the hot sauce. It is extremely hot and should be used minimally at best
Located on a beautiful beach, on Stoking Island, Exumas - et there by taxi-boat from Georgetown - this bar-grill delivers delicious meals, grilled meats, great conch salade and fishes, well served cocktails, served by nice bartenders. Paradise-like place we loved. A must be, as well for one to swim with stingrays, waiting to stroke feet, just at the sea shore close the restaurant.
Our group of 5 hung out at Chat-n-Chill one afternoon in late December. The ferry was $15 per person R/T. The fresh conch salad was $15 too. It was large and freshly made. Hanging out with the sting rays was cool. They have a lot of picnic tables under shady trees and what seems like a very busy food shack. I met and chatted with a few boater folks and all in all a nice day. It was very busy with many boats on the shore and although we had a nice day, our group preferred Starfish beach with a bit less activity. The sunset photo was taken on board the boat returning to Exuma. Always get off the islands before sun down or the mosquitoes and noseeums will have their way with you!
Visited Chat N Chill for the day as it was highly recommended, we arrived by a water taxi and followed the path around to the main beach, where we found families playing Beach Volleyball, a group of people playing music & lots of people “chatting and chilling “ which gave the place a really nice vibe, we had a couple of drinks from the bar, service was good, music in the bar was also good, didn’t get a chance to try the food.
Overall experience was great, I want my own boat now so I can visit when I want.
We spent a day at chatnchill, took a boat taxi next to exuma markets to go there ( Elvis water taxi, 20$ round trip). Our day was perfect. Although the weather at exuma was little windy, we didnt feel it at Stocking island, it was a very relaxing day. Chatnchill bar is at a beautiful spot, with swings and wooden tables to comfortably have your lunch, and ur feet almost in the water :). We order the conch salad at the conch salad kiosk, it was incredibly tasty (25$ for the tropical one, they add mango). Unforgettable experience, we highly recommend ♥️♥️🌸🌸. PS: u may wait a little bit if u order drinks or food at the restaurant.
If there was an option for 1000 stars I would do it. Chat and Chill exceeded my expectations. I was looking for an authentic tropical Caribbean vibe and it delivered. The manager Nevada created the atmosphere needed for Fulljoyment and Khai and the rest of staff was very friendly...this place is a must visit in the Exumas. Definitely will be back. Probably before the year is over.
Chat 'N' Chill offers a unique blend of relaxation, culinary delights, and island activities, making it a must-visit destination for those traveling to the Exumas. There's a volleyball court and opportunities to interact with friendly stingrays that frequent the shallow waters. Very friendly atmosphere, praising the great drinks, beautiful beach, and the opportunity to interact with stingrays. This beach bar provides an experience that embodies the spirit of the Bahamas. Perfect place for adults and kids.
Chat 'N' Chill on Stocking Island is the epitome of island paradise! From the moment we docked our boat on the pristine beach, we knew we were in for something special. The laid-back, welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home, and the breathtaking views of the turquoise waters are absolutely mesmerizing.
The beach bar and grill is fantastic—nothing beats the fresh conch salad, made right in front of you with the freshest ingredients. The BBQ is mouthwatering, and the drinks are cold and refreshing—perfect for a day of relaxation in the sun. The vibe here is unmatched, with live music, friendly locals, and fellow travelers all coming together to enjoy the best of island life.
One of the highlights was getting to feed and swim with the friendly stingrays that glide gracefully in the shallow waters right off the beach. It was an unforgettable experience that added a unique touch to our visit.
The staff at Chat 'N' Chill are super friendly and make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your time on the island. Whether you're lounging in a hammock, playing a game of volleyball, or just soaking up the sun, you'll feel like you're living the dream.
If you're in the Exumas, a visit to Chat 'N' Chill is an absolute must. It's the perfect spot to unwind, make new friends, and soak in the beauty of the Bahamas. I can't wait to come back! Highly recommended!
The last beach experience my grandmother had, and I'm glad that it was here. She has a GREAT TIME as we always do with KB and family, with amazing food, ALWAYS calm and beautiful beaches, the friendliest stingrays that come by and greet you, and conch/tropical salad prepared for you fresh right by the water's edge. It's definitely a must do and see when you come to Exuma. The ICONIC Chat N Chill
Good times, Good food, great drinks, GREAT location.
Chat 'N' Chill is a MUST in George Town/Exuma. The weekly pig roast is on Sunday and I highly recommend it. You get a heaping plate of pulled pork with a honey mustard sauce and a few sides that are excellent. Once you've had your fill, enjoy a beautiful beach and day of chill where you can see stingrays up close.
Located at stocking island. It's a Perfect island and beaches are great.. Can see and feed Stingrays at the shore. Conch salad from the salad bar is a must try. Lots of places to Hike around in the island.
Chat and chill bar could be crowded as that's the only restaurant available at that place.
Picnic private areas, volleyball court are perfect additions for the beach. Very low Tides and perfect to take a dip in the water and chill!
It’s been hit and miss. The coleslaw, of all things, is great! Like, enough to reverse engineer great. The rest is ok. The conch salad was really tasty, worth the trip.
I imagine that during high season, this place would be stompin and jammin with cruising boaters, visitors, and local hotel folks, for sure! During the low season, you get mostly folks staying nearby. Not bad, just different vibe. The beach can easily get crowded with boats anchored and lots of dinghies pulled up. Just as many people in the water as in the shade.
Getting an order put in, you will have plenty who just belly up and cut right in as well as those who have been patiently waiting. It’s Hunger Games to get the bartender’s attention. They are definitely engaging but some customers will pull them into chats and not let them work.
The grounds are nice with many tables, volleyball, bocce ball, and other games. The gift shop offers local flavor to take home with you.
Food prices are actually decent, but you get what you pay for. Fruity drinks are always a hit and the mixes made fresh.
A bit hit and miss during off season and would be slammed during high season.
Regardless, a really neat place to visit. Gonna have to try the pig roast on Sundays.
Great place to hang out for the day. You can feed the sting rays here. Beware, bartenders can be slow and rude at times, not always but they have their moments. If you can, take your own drinks however they have signs that it’s not allowed but they don’t own the beach. You can hike on a trail behind the bar to the outer beach which is a short and easy hike. Overall, something you should do for at least one day on your trip. Picture is of Elvis’s water taxi which will get you there. As long as it stays afloat.
Probably one of the most kid friendly places on the island even though I wouldn't consider anywhere here to be particularly kid friendly at all. The burger is good $7. You absolutely will see many sting rays that you can feed and pet. Water is clear for snorkeling. You have to get to stocking island by boat, we used Elvis water taxi. You can pull a boat up right on the beach. There is also a little shake that has conch salad. Made fresh in front of you. There is a volleyball net in the sand. And a swing. Nice place for tourists.
We spent our first full day in Exuma at Stocking Island because it was Sunday and the day of the pig roast. The pig roast was tasty with roasted pig, rice with a few beans, Bahamian Mac and cheese and roasted carrots. I’d probably give it. 3.5 because it’s kind of disappointing that people can park their boats anywhere and I tried to order a frozen drink twice: once they weren’t ready yet and the other time the blender was ‘broken.’
This is our second time coming to Chat N Chill. Such a fun and family friendly atmosphere.
Grab a rental boat or a water taxi and head out! Even if they aren’t “open” for food yet you can relax on the beach, play volleyball, swim with the sting ray, etc
My children (ages 8 and 5) had such a fun time on the many hanging swings and overall enjoyed the atmosphere of this beach. If you come to the Bahamas you have to check this spot out.
We had a great time at Chat n Chill even though they were out of a lot of stuff. Maybe next time we'll show up for the larger events/parties.
Getting a souvenir t-shirt would have been cool, but not at the exorbitant prices they were asking.
Saw some sting rays, conch shells, and generally nice people all around.
Thanks to Elvis for getting us back n forth.
Was told this was a must do while in Exuma to be sure to get there on a Sunday for the pig roast, and after doing it, we couldn't agree more. First off, the atmosphere is really cool, a beach bum vibe with a good crowd to mingle with but also able to just plop down on the shore and look out into the harbor. The fresh conch salad bar is top notch, it wound up being both of our favorite conch dish (we tried it every which way). The pig roast was really good too, and the bar had a great Goombay Smash.
We found Elvis Water taxi at Exuma Yacht Club now. He makes a good conch salad as you waited. The fair was $20/pp for round trip. Fast trip over to Chat and Chill on a Sunday. It was a little busy for the hog roast. The food was good although the lines got a little long. Would maybe go over another day if you want to avoid the crowds.
I really liked this place. It has an awesome outside area with a lot of trees and places to sit. The view is amazing as well. We spent a few days just chilling at Chat n Chill for half a day. You can also feed stingrays and have absolutely delicious conch salad from raw conch! I highly recommend trying that salad. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 starts is because the drinks weren't that great and staff wasn't very friendly.
A beautiful place on the stocking island !! From Georgetown you can get a ferry for $20 round trip. The kids had a blast as well !! Beach volleyball, swings, petting string rays and of course beautiful beach. We had fried and coconut water and they were good. Definitely difficult for vegetarians to get food but nonetheless still an amazing place.
We are anchored nearby and we were told about the Sunday Pork roast. We rode our dinghy over and pulled it up on the beach. This is a must if you are in the Exumas. We hung out with some other cruisers and enjoyed the Pork roast and drinks. The dinner was $22 for each plate and served with a pretty good size portion of pork, cole slaw, that I was told has been voted the best in the last several years, mac & cheese, and rice and peas. There is a honey mustard flavored sauce for the pork and also a hot sauce which was really hot and really yummy. We ate out lunch at one of the many picnic tables near the playground and volleyball court. After lunch, we lounged around the beach and watched people feed the sting rays. This is a fun place to hang out and Chat N Chill for the day. The staff was telling me how happy they were to see visitors again. I'm so glad that we spent the day here and we will most certainly be back before we leave.
Decent food and drinks (strong rum punches). The service was a little slow, they cook on the grill outside once you order it. Bathrooms had no water so they were not working, which isn't good when you are drinking. The atmosphere is decent, plus its on the beach. Overall not bad at all.
We stopped by several times by boat and mostly had a fun time eating, playing with the rays, swinging, enjoying fruity drinks, just hanging out. We loved the conch salad but thought it was a little expensive but I do understand what it takes to get the conchs here. The guy running the stand was fun to chat with and let us make videos and take pics. The line for Chat N Chill food and drinks was very long and disorganized and had lots of flies. The food was pretty good but nothing great. They were out of fish! The frozen drinks were good but overflowing and messy. Overall, we like the atmosphere but would not order food again other than the conch salad at the hut.
Some of the negative reviews below are hilarious. Anyone who came here expecting fine dining clearly lost their grip on reality. This is a simple beach bar that imports everything in the morning in coolers. It's simple bar food and it's perfectly fine. The beer is cold and the portions were solid.
The staff here was incredibly friendly. Keno (sp?) the bartender is funny, helpful, and engaging. The gift shop clerk was also wonderful.
The reason you come here is to feed and pet the stingrays. The staff provides you with diced up raw chicken, and the stingrays eat it right out of your hand. If you sit in the water they'll routinely come right up to you to hang out. The beachfront is a little cluttered and the volleyball area wasn't kept up, but hey, it's the off season. Little things.
Side note: don't expect the water taxis to show up when they say they will. This has nothing to do with the venue, but it's worth knowing.
I came on a Sunday for their pig roast -- some of the best food I had while in Exuma period. The vibe here is so chill (obviously), but the owners & people you'll meet make it so worth the trip. It's definitely a great place to hang, get drinks, eat & of course, chat & chill! Also, the sunset views are killer.
Sure, it's touristy, but the Chat and Chill is a great place to hang out and to meet other folks. We usually anchor right off the beach for most of the time we are here. It's also a great place to watch the Family Islands Regatta from. I still love the conchburgers and pretty much have to have one every time I go ashore.
Chat N Chill is a must do when visiting Exuma, Bahamas.
This little island bar location serves food and drinks every day and most days the little conch bar down by the water has fresh conch salad ( which is absolutely the best food there.)
There are beach games available, tree swings for the kids (or the kid in you) and the main attraction are the very friendly Sting Rays that love to interact with anyone in the water that's willing to give them attention (and fresh fish or conch scraps.)
The island is only accessible by boat from Georgetown. So you will want to either rent a boat or catch one of the water Taxi's a available about every 20 minutes or so.
I’m not going to say this place is great or awful, I’ll still rate 5 stars to not tarnish their rep, but it is not for everyone. Sure you’ve got the sun, volleyball, cornhole, swings, tight-rope, full bar, good food, good tunes, and a very friendly orange cat. Oh and the water is great of course, with lots of rays coming to say hello!
However, this place reeked of rotting eggs, conch, or sewage. Maybe we went on a bad day, I don’t know. It honestly feels like a lake day at your local (American) lake. Kids everywhere, seagulls going for your food, and you need to pay to get out here. If you came to Exuma to get away from people you won’t get that here. Very family friendly, wet taxi ride over, but it’s not for everyone.
They do have a great gift shop as well! And if you do go over there, bring your college flag/t-shirt for them to hang in the bar.
What a place. What you would picture when you think of the penultimate beach bar. As a cruiser Chat n Chill is like no other, they live up to the name and are a real community hub for those living or traveling on their boat. Food is great, but don't forget they ain't fast food! Leave your rush behind, be ready to meet people, and you will have a stellar time at a one of a kind place.
We had a great time. Arrived around 11 am in Sunday and got a great shade spot for the kids. Ronaldo and the boys showed us how to feed the Stingrays, which my boys loved. They have a great atmosphere and some beautiful views. If you are traveling to Exuma....this is a must! Pig roast is first come first serve, so dont wait too long to eat!
Highly recommended stop with a laid back atmosphere for the entire family. Sunday is the day to be there for the hog roast, but don't be late as it goes quick! We stop here multiple times each time we're on the island! Don't forget to stop by the conch shack to watch them make your fresh conch salad! Are you brave enough to add the pistol to your salad!? Gotta check out the rays too!
Free to chat pay to chill is what they say. Beautiful relaxing place where you can swim with sting rays, dock your boat and drink and eat. Food is good fries are awesome.. pig roast every sunday. I do t eat pork but you get a whole meal of peas and rice, macaroni pie, cole slaw and pork for $22 a plate not shareable portions. Get a conch salad, frozen alcoholic beverages. No coolers, food or alcohol allowed on the premises.
Friendly and accommodating staff, chill vibe and pleasantly strong drinks. The ribs and conch burger were delicious and Kwanza (owner) sat down at our table to get to know our party of eight personally. The sting rays were so cool! We were reluctant to take a ferry ride just to eat, but very glad we did. My only advice is be sure you're back across the water and in your vehicle before sundown because the mosquitoes are waiting on the Exuma docks! 😂
Looks like a hit or miss but was a hit both times we went here. Took A1 taxi to get here ($20 to and fro).
We went on a Sunday to get the pig roast but I wouldn't plan around this. To be honest, the rest of the food is way better and cheaper than the pig roast. The hot dog was only $6 and was the best thing I ate in this island.
The drinks are pre-made in batches but no complaints - $12 each.
Sting rays hang around for the feed and fun to watch. The conch salad is a must try but can be overwhelming if you are not a salad person. The conch tastes pretty much like any other seafood but it gets really crowded here.
If you are looking for a kid free zone, this is not it.
You can walk over to the peace and plenty beach close by when the tide is slow and that has more of a calmer vibe.
It's very busy always. We're not drinkers. We stopped by to get conch salad. Sadly, there were no hot peppers the day we went, so luckily, we only purchased 1 conch salad. It was fine, not the best we have had while in the Bahamas. We then stopped by for the chicken special $10. Grilled chicken, rice and peas. Option of Mac and cheese or coleslaw. We got Mac and cheese. It was very good. Plan to wait because they are cooking the chickens on the grill. They are sold out when the chickens are gone. It was nice to have a meal similar to what you might make at home ! Great deal. Lovely area, pretty beach. Great place for kids to meet up.
It’s everything you hear it is… GO!!
Fun, fun, and more fun! We picked up a water taxi from Island Boy Cafe ($20 round trip). The food is tasty (try the conch salad!!), the drinks are strong, the sting rays are so cool, and the people are so kind! The whole place was a vibe! We went on a Friday and ended up back there on Sunday during the pig roast. Didn’t try any of the food besides conch salad (big portions/amazing) but I’m still thinking about that Goombay Smash (Add the $3 rum floater at your own risk 😉)! Just know like with most things, they run on island time so definitely have patience and CHILL! Everything there was worth the wait. Definitely take a trip out while in Exuma— you won’t be disappointed!
Perfect location on the beach. They're only open mainly in the afternoons. They may run out of food a little later in the day so don't be attached to a specific item being on the menu for that day. The prices are probably the best I've seen in the Bahamas. The service is great, very friendly people.
We rented a boat and went on a Sunday when it’s extremely busy . Not sure about some of the reviews saying it’s slow but when went it was busy but these guys still provided excellent service and we didn’t have to wait long . Food was good and so were the drinks . This place is a must when visiting. Good vibe and atmosphere. Go pet the stingrays .
Absolutely incredible vibes. We know what authentic tropical vibes is and this place delivered 1000%...this spot is what we were looking for as far as an escape where time does not seem to matter. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and the Manager Nevada and Khai made us feel like VIP. We will be back very soon.
If your in Exuma and are renting a boat or are willing to take a water taxi over from the mainland I recommend coming to chat and chill , the atmosphere is awesome , everyone talking to everyone , sharing experiences and recommendations, the food was ok , wouldn’t expect much , we rented a boat so we stopped here for dinner , feeding the sting rays is awesome , there is a small gift shop as well you can take a look at , I believe Sundays they have a pig roast I would imagine it gets busier then
