Diwali celebrations in London this year began with a spectacular extravaganza at the iconic and prestigious Royal Albert Hall. Ranu Mehta Radia, the creative force behind this celebration of Indian culture and festivity, once again brought the timeless values of Hinduism to the forefront of British cultural life.
A riot of colour, song, dance, choreography, animation, and uplifting messages filled the grand stage—and was a mesmerising treat for the senses.
All applause to Ranu Mehta Radia and her incredible team for weaving together such a vast and talented cast, and for bringing the story of The Ramayan to life as a musical on London’s most iconic stage. Resounding congratulations on this visionary celebration enacted with tremendous and energetic beauty.

The Diwali Story was a fun and colorful show that brought the story to life with music, dance, and some great acting.
The real highlights were Raavan and Hanuman. Raavan completely stole the show — his acting was powerful, strong and he made the character feel both scary and fascinating. Hanuman was full of energy and charm, and every time he came on stage, the crowd got excited.
Lakshman also did really well and seemed perfect for his role. He played it with the right mix of warmth and confidence. Sita was okay, she looked the part and performed nicely, but her scenes didn’t leave a big impact. Sadly, Ram was a big disappointment. His performance felt flat, and he didn’t bring out the strength or emotion the character needed. He came across unsuitable for such a divine role.
Overall, the show was entertaining and worth watching for Raavan and Hanuman alone, but it could have been much better if the main lead had matched their level.
NK
It was a magnificent show!! Kiddos to everyone who was the part of it!!! One can see the amount of efforts are put to get the show to this magnificent scale.
Few things that I think will help the overall show to next level
1. avoiding the number of blackouts throughout the show
2. At the time of Ganesh Arti the stage was empty only the singer was on stage, if it was accompanied by the dancers it would have given a greater effect.
3. CGI of hanuman lifting Ram Lakshuman was not required or animated would have been good like the other displays, as it became very noticeable ram lakshuman,s wig ( which were messy)and Hanuman’s fake body

The Diwali Story was an absolutely amazing musical show! It brought the story of Diwali to life through beautiful songs, lively dances, and colorful visuals. The whole performance was full of energy, emotion, and festive spirit — it truly captured the meaning of Diwali.
I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family because it was so entertaining, inspiring, and filled with joy.
I really loved the music during the transitions between the stories — it was so smooth and magical, making each part of the story flow perfectly.
The standout moment for me was when Prince Ram finally won the battle and saved his wife. The music, lights, and excitement in that scene were absolutely breathtaking — it gave me goosebumps! It was such a powerful and emotional moment that showed the victory of good over evil.
And I have to say, the actor who played Prince Ram was incredible! He performed with such strength, grace, and emotion — he truly brought the character to life and made the audience feel every moment of his journey.
Overall, “The Diwali Story” was a wonderful experience — full of inspiration, positivity, and festive magic!

Beautifully executed. The sound and lighting were incredible.
1)Best moments were entry of Ravana. Very powerful projection.
And Hanuman chalisa with Hanumandada walking with the mountain with sanjeevni.
2)I would have liked to see Lord Rama inaugurated with mugut.Him and Sitamata sitting as king and queen of Ayodhya with diyas and flowers and on the screen
Then last dances

Good show with great choreography, set design at an historic venue. Parvati was the stand-out actor and gave a wonderful solo dance. A little too long towards the end especially with all the dances which were a bit too much. All in all, a fun evening

Special praise goes to Ram, Lakshman, Hanuman, Raavan, and Jatayu, whose performances were powerful, emotive, and utterly captivating.
The dancers were outstanding, adding vibrancy and rhythm to each scene and elevating the storytelling through their artistry.
A heartfelt congratulations to the entire team for delivering such a memorable and beautifully executed performance.

It was outstanding event, presentation cannot be explained in words, standiut moment was recitation of hanuman chalisa in the Albert hall. Many more such events should be displayed. Wishing most and more, waiting for more such events. Prayful wishes.

Jsn and heartiest congrates for arranging mesmerising prgm at Royal Albert Hall. I felt very happy to be part of audience. Gr8 work and starting with MSM's ashirwad was a cherry on the cake.

The show was amazing. I loved the concept of learning about the Diwali story through live music and play. The costumes and the vibrant colours was very engaging.
Personally, I felt the flow wasn't quite there; there were too many scenes with the stage going totally dark too many times. Soon as you get into the scene the stage goes black for the next scene. Also sound of the singers were not as clear.
I loved the concept of learning through a musical and would definitely attend any other events of this kind, and would definitely bring my children.

Had a wonderful experience watching the Diwali Story a musical show at the Royal Albert Hall. The cast, the musicians, the dancers and the production crew did an incredible job. The lights, set, props and costumes stood out very well. The casting choice was good, especially for characters such as Shivji, Parvati Ma, Lakshman Ji, Hanuman Ji, Raavan and Shabri.
I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

The Diwali Story was a truly spectacular production, easily among the best musicals I’ve seen, even compared to those in the West End.

The show was enchanting indeed.
They say You must experience musicals in Royal Albert hall, But watching Ramayan- the musical was truly different level. The visuals- the effects - the presentation- the story line - and the performances was too good. The dances were so mesmerizing and well coordinated and choreographed. The idea of asking everyone to sing “Hanuman Chalisa” was a experience in itself. Heartfelt.
It was indeed a must watch show.
Thanks to Nihika and Namita who recommended the show ❤️❤️

Jai Swaminarayan Nitinji,
A big heart congratulations to you and Kamuben and Palan foundation and everyone who made the Diwali story at Royal Albert a beautifully historic celebration!!
It was out of this world 🌎! I have never heard about or been to such a show, what a morally uplifting, sleek, professional and high quality production which is spreading the true ethos of Sanatana dharma under the auspices of Diwali Story !!
Truly you and your team & Nilkumar have global history.. it was a memorable euphoric moment, each act was mesmerising, it almost took the audience back to Tretayug, from my perspective 🙏🏼😊!
I thoroughly enjoyed and I would like this show to go globally and make all the sanatanis proud & educate those who don’t know about this longest living religion via a beautiful artistic presentation in a language ( English) understood by majority !!

We took our kids to see the Diwali story to educate them about the ramayana and it is significance to the celebration of Diwali. They absolutely loved it because it was not only in English but an inspiration to them about culture and values. It was beautiful and the performance was superb from the musicians to the actors and the AI graphics were great.

Diwali story was an amazing experience. Will surely recommend it to everyone. The costume were amazing. The colours and vibrancy was amazing. The lightings could have been better.

This was a truly remarkable production — one I would wholeheartedly recommend to friends and family. I felt immense pride seeing our rich cultural history brought to life on such a prestigious stage as the Royal Albert Hall.
Highlights:
1. The performances of Ram, Lakshman, and Raavan were exceptional. Each actor embodied their role with authenticity and power, carrying the narrative beautifully throughout.
2. The VFX and stage production were visually stunning, adding depth and emotion to key scenes.
3. The entry of Raavan was spectacular, a moment of sheer theatre.
4. The Lakshman and Indrajit battle scene was a personal favourite. Both delivered their parts with remarkable intensity and conviction — special praise to Lakshman for portraying strength, loyalty, and emotion with such balance and precision.
Areas for Improvement:
1. Some scenes could benefit from deeper storytelling — for instance, the Shoorpankha sequence felt a little rushed and could have used more context.
2. The second half included slightly too many dance segments, which affected the pacing.
3. The absence of the coronation scene was noticeable; seeing Ram and Sita crowned would have provided a more complete and satisfying conclusion.
Overall, this was a beautiful and inspiring performance that paid wonderful tribute to our heritage. The passion and talent of the cast made this a truly memorable experience.
Dimple Malik
The Diwali Story was an absolutely enchanting experience that brought the spirit and story of Diwali to life through music, drama and visuals. The way the age-old tale of Lord Ram’s journey was told through song and performance was both captivating and emotionally powerful. I would absolutely recommend it to my friends and family — it’s the kind of show that entertains, educates, and uplifts all at once.
What made this show so unique and engaging was the way the entire story was narrated by none other than Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Their divine commentary added a beautiful layer of depth, wisdom, and warmth to the storytelling, guiding the audience through the emotions, challenges, and triumphs of the Ramayana with grace and insight.
What I enjoyed most was the seamless blending of traditional storytelling with modern stagecraft — from the choreography to the lighting, everything was beautifully orchestrated.
Special mention for the actor who played Ram — his portrayal was too appropriate. His calm presence, dignified expressions, and strong voice perfectly embodied the essence of Lord Ram. He brought both strength and serenity to the role in a way that felt genuinely divine. You could tell he truly connected with the role on a deeper level.
Overall, this musical show is a heartwarming celebration of culture, values, and faith — a must-watch during the festive season!

What an incredible Diwali show! I’ve never experienced anything like this before. The actors were outstanding especially Ravan and Kaikeyi, they were absolutely superb! Parvati and Shivji also performed beautifully. The theme and background music were amazing and the golden deer scene was truly commendable. Everything was presented so beautifully! Yes we need this for our future generation🙏🏼
Parul
It was great
We should certainly show this multicultural celebrations of Indian culture which leads to one road - Ram!

It is good to see Ramayana was played in such a big platform. The musicals was spell bound till the interval , post that it got lost with lots of unnecessary dance sequence.
The cast of Shiv, Parvati, Hanuman and Ravan was perfect. Rest of the cast were ok. The lead three characters is a disappointment

I did part of your diwali at Royal Albert Hall as a guest.its really Great spiritual event.i never seen any Hindu events on this level at this kind of heritage world famous venues.i congratulate to all behind this event.from organizer to each and everyone behind this.please in future keep it on this kind of sanatanevents for our current and future generations.

It was a delight to see the Diwali Story at the royal Albert hall, it really impressed me in a few key areas.
First off, Ram and Lakshman were fantastic. The actors had amazing chemistry — you could genuinely feel the brotherly bond, and they looked the part too, physically strong and convincing. Their scenes together were some of the most natural and engaging moments of the show.
Raavan was another highlight — commanding, intense, and completely magnetic on stage. Every scene with him felt electric. His entry scene and fight with Jatayu were mesmerising to say the least.
The dances and choreography were gorgeous, full of energy and perfectly synchronized, and the costumes were stunning — vibrant, detailed, and really helped bring the epic to life.
Overall, this production nailed the visuals and gave us some truly memorable performances, especially thanks to Ram, Lakshman, and Raavan.
I truly hope this show becomes a regular occurance. Compliments to the whole
Team.

Excellent Performance by Ram. Good looking , calm and perfectly suitable for the role of Lord Rama. Amazing dialogue delivery by Ram ji and was Outstanding. Keep the gd work going. Very very proud of u to take our Hindu Culture and Tradition Ahead.
Even Ravana was too good. His performance was Amazing.
Janki
The Diwali Story was amazing from the sound to the performances and dancers and live singers all very good. My favourite characters were Bharat ji, Raavan and Hanuman. They all performed their parts so well.
The only thing I would change is the costumes of ram, lakshman and sita when they go into the forest they were hermits so that’s how their outfits should be and the ram wasn’t suited for the role he didn’t have the body language to be ram.
Also you should have had a scene where bharatji dressed as hermits welcomes ram, lakshman and sita and then of them all in their original outfits on the throne.
Apart from that everyone did a really good job to share the Diwali story with everyone. The atmosphere was so divine. Well done and congratulations to you all!
PD
Diwali Story was a wonderful experience overall. The story was great and beautifully told — it really captured the essence of the Ramayan in a heartfelt way. Sita looked absolutely beautiful and Ram was charming and confident and sexy — a truly striking pair on screen. (Can I get handsome ram’s number pls) 🫣
There were a few hiccups in terms of direction, and the music could have been stronger in some parts, but those small issues didn’t take away from the spirit of the film. You can clearly see the effort that went into pulling together such a massive and meaningful story — it’s not an easy task, and the team did a commendable job.
Overall, Diwali Story was a delightful watch — soulful, vibrant, and full of devotion.

A fantastic show at the Royal Albert Hall — truly a celebration of talent and creativity! The musicians and performers were exceptional, bringing the Ramayana to life in such an engaging and captivating way. A huge well done to the entire team for delivering such a memorable performance.

I went to watch the Diwali story at the royal Albert hall. Here are my thoughts:
Visually stunning and full of energy, but definitely a mixed bag overall.
Raavan totally stole the show, powerful, confident, and so fun to watch. My personal favourite was his battle with Jatayu.
Hanuman brought good energy and looked the part too. Lakshman really fit his role perfectly, and did his part well.
Dashrath and Kaikeyi were both decent, played their parts with sincerity, though they didn’t stand out much. Sita was okay, but Shoorpankha felt pretty off, the role just didn’t suit her.
Ram, whilst sincere, his performance felt flat and didn’t have the strength or emotion you’d expect from such an important character. His dialogue delivery was great but there was something lacking.
Overall, the show had its moments, but some inconsistent performances stopped it from being truly amazing.
Akash Rawat
A musical divine and delight to eyes, Diwali Story was an extravaganza for me & my family. From stpry narration to musical performances, each and every part was so beautifully created, directed & acted. Each & every character was so contentful with meticulous acting and stage performance, but the most imp part was Shri Ram played by Rajveer Mann - he nailed it with his astonishing stage skills, amazing vocals & diction.
Kudos to the whole team and a super presentation. Happy Diwali, Jai Shri Ram.

Incredible performance with an electric atmosphere. Beautiful demonstration of classical Indian cultures and stories.
The passion of the actors was evident with Ram being a particular stand out. The pain he showed at the death of his brother felt genuine and his compassion for his slain enemy too. Great actor.
Greatly recommend the show to anyone who wants to know more about Diwali and it's rich history.

The Diwali story was extremely well narrated, the music, lighting and characters were all fantastic.
The best moment was where the whole audience singing the Hanuman Chalisa while the play was continuing and the energy in the room was mind blowing. People had goosebumps, it was very emotional.
There was a variety of dances across India which added to the spectacular production.
It was an amazing experience and one I shall remember forever.

Wonderful evening with fantastic costumes 😍 enjoyed it thoroughly...
Our seats were brilliant just right for the grandchildren. A little pricey though
Very colourful and bright
Not sure of the 3d backdrop screening of the lady (kakei) in green outfit dance, not sure if it was suitable for young kids who were present nearby sitting children didn't want to watch
The petal drop should have been around the whole auditorium and not just at the front stalls seating..
Perhaps the stage would have been better
maybe an earlier start and timely finish as young children were falling asleep or leaving the auditorium sad that the final 10-15 minutes were missed
maybe some interactions with the kids would have been better...
After all this is to engage the next generation of the cultural values.
But commend the efforts of the organisers overally 👏
Thank you and look forward to the next performance in the future...
