To whom it may concern,

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the Harvest Hub July food box. We are a young family in Garrett County who strives to fuel our bodies with healthy, local, nutrient dense food. We also strive to support our local community's farmers to the greatest degree possible. Eating local, high quality food is important to us, but it is also very expensive. We do not qualify for other forms of assistance, so the Harvest Hub program has been such a blessing. The quality and freshness of the food included in the box was exceptional. The thought and detail of what was included in the box was evident. The ideas and instructions were helpful and the prepared food was delicious.

Thank you again for the time, thought and resources that went into this box. Thank you for supporting our local farmers. Thank you for providing this resource to families that value a little extra support, but that may not qualify for other means of assistance.

Blessings,

Michael and Amanda Welch and family

I am so thankful for the incredible grant that allowed so many of us to play pickleball throughout the winter. In addition to getting great exercise, I met so many wonderful people with which to share my love of pickleball. I think everyone who played had an amazing time.

Anne & I learned to play pickleball at the fairgrounds this winter. It was a great venue for us as beginners to the sport. It helped that the courts are indoors and the floors are smooth concrete. We are going to try playing outdoors next week at the Grantsville courts.

There are so many friendly and supportive senior athletes to show you the ropes. It is a good workout for seniors who don't move as well as they once did and there's no pressure.

I hope we can take advantage of the fairgrounds again next year.

The ability to play pickleball this winter has been outstanding for us and so many others. While most of the players have been “upper middle age” (older), it has enabled young and old to keep active, fit, enhance and maintain motor skills and develop a supportive community encouraging good health and friendship. It has served a vital role in our lives and I hope we can repeat the experience at the Ag facility in the years ahead.

This winter, playing pickleball indoors at Ag Hall has been an absolute game-changer! Having a local, welcoming space to stay active and connected with friends throughout the colder months has made such a difference. The energy and camaraderie on the courts have been incredible, and it’s been amazing to keep improving our game even when the weather outside was anything but inviting.

I’m so thankful for the support that made access to these indoor facilities possible, turning pickleball into a year-round activity for our community. It’s more than just a sport — it’s become a winter highlight and a way to stay fit, have fun, and build lasting friendships. Thank you for making this possible!
