When we moved to Virginia Beach the MyActiveChild.com emails helped us become familiar with local activities and experiences. We learned about Nauticus, The Childre's Museum, and lots of local farms. Our favorite has been Cullipher Farms.

I'm seriously going to bookmark this site. It is definitely helpful for finding activities, and lists everything in one go instead of lots of Google searches. One of the kid's favorites was a dinosaur event that had animatronics dinosaurs, excavating your own fossils, scavenger hunts, and more; and I wouldn't have ever seen it unless I happened to stumble across it on here. I've also used this site to help find kid things for a mom friend of mine who moved to a new city a couple years ago.

A couple years back, I was looking for something for me and my child to do and I came across an event called blue star connect outdoors which gets military families together and out enjoying nature. Every fall I use My Active Child's calendar to find Trunk or Treat and other events to take my children for Halloween. The more events I can take my children to get "use" out of their Halloween costumes justifies the cost on their costumes while creating memories with my 4 children.

MyActiveChild.com has been so helpful for my family! They make finding local activities so easy, and we are always "in the know" about different sports, camps, events, etc. We even won Disney on Ice tickets through a giveaway, which was an awesome surprise! We love this site and use it often!

I used MyActiveChild.com for every season! They always put together the best of in season events. I have been to Hunt Club and the fall festival because of them. I really appreciate all the effort they put in to keeping us informed on what’s going on in the Hampton roads. Whether it’s events or other important resources, they do a lot of research into what they put out to us.

So last year we used Sam Saslone’s list of neighborhood lights from the BIG list and programmed the addresses local to us in google maps. We were easily able to go from one house to another. But the neatest house was a two story home and somehow they projected scenes in their second floor windows of Santa, looking out the windows, putting gifts under the tree. It was SO real looking. It mesmerized me!

We had the best time at the touch a truck event! There was something for everyone in the family which is important because we have such a variety of ages.

I was so grateful for learning about myactivechild! We were new to the area due to the spouse being military so had no idea what a wonderful social calendar the Hampton roads area has! And so many different activities and events are covered here! From seasonal Christmas lights to pumpkin patches to zoo events, art things, free things to do, special events, sports that are going on. We won tickets to the holiday lights at the beach thru myactivechild. It was one of my dad's favorite things to do (look at holiday lights) and we all had an amazing time. He has since passed away but it's still a great memory.

We have attended live storytime at Zeiders (favorite so far). We have attended carnivals, movies (both indoor and outdoor), strawberry picking and various entertainment centers that have time set aside for special needs children.
