[Foundations] has been very helpful for documenting and organizing projects and processes, especially for our small team. It has been very practical and less bureaucratic.

[Foundations] is worth a lot due to the clarity, simplification, and focus that small teams need to avoid the overwhelm and lead projects and documentation in a better way possible.

[If you're on the fence about Foundations] Do it! I love the content, and the biggest bonus is an already built, tested, and optimized SmartSuite solution...for me, Foundations showed me two things:

1. It is much easier to invest in a completed project than to DIY it.  I had been trying to DIY my task management and other work in Smartsuite for the last year, by doing Foundations it pulled all the things together (connected some pieces that I had missed through my DIY process).

2. It gave me a tried and true tool (Smartsuite solution) that allowed easy implementation so it moved the theoretical to practical.

I saw firsthand how, with a few simple guidelines, SOP generation can be (almost) painless.

I was always postponing writing SOP for the next day and it never happens.

I bought ProcessDriven in January and it was super enlightening on just organizing the "brain" of our business.

I had been working really hard for a long time on detailing out our onboarding process which is intense because as an accounting firm we collect so much documentation and there are so many little things to check in the bookkeeping and in all kinds of different 3rd party software that plugs into the Xero or Quickbooks accounting software that we use.

I am getting down to having full training guides completed for each of our major delivery processes, plus walkthroughs and templates of all the different tasks that a client could have. I am the owner of a cleaning service with a staff of around 30. I also do consulting to other cleaning service owners. To keep both of these worlds organized and with nothing slipping through the cracks was something I was deeply struggling with. I just joined the membership less than a week ago. Started implementing hard-core (many overnighters were had) and have in less than one week… gotten our MVC setup on our most important service delivery workflow.

Results so far:

-$250/month in software costs removed from my business ($3,000/year)

In the Foundations, the process org chart part of the Foundations changed how our business works.

What was before just a “start up with no systems and only the 'founders’ knowledge’ ” grew from 6 to 12 full time employees in one year, with systems and processes in place so that we are now able to manage multiple part-timers and volunteers as well as having a plan for major business expansion in the near future.

What this course taught me is not only the how-tos of ClickUp, but the skills in business and human resources management that is realistic, efficient, and effective, because through learning how to apply them on ClickUp, I learned how a “system” works and is felt from the leadership down to the smallest tasks of each staff.

THE SYSTEM WORKS!!!!

We have been slowly building the system/processes/tasks and equipment that make it all work, then along came an employee who wanted to take a vacation and did. (Who do they think they are???) I would love to say it was a perfect week of bliss, ease, and amazing progress, but that would be a lie. It was, however, proof that the system (bus brain) does work. Tasks kept getting done, there was not crying, wailing or gnashing of teeth. We did learn a few tweaks to make it better, but it worked. A major win that won over a few Negative Nancy's on our team as well.

Conceptualizing the difference between core processes, systems, SOPs, and tasks was really helpful.

We have SOPs and well-defined processes for our service offering, but the rest of our business really hasn't developed procedures yet, and we were struggling with how to integrate it together.

The noun/verb exercise really helps non-operations folks visualize things.

... a lot of this course was the basic How’s of ClickUp and as someone who has spent quite a lot of time playing around with the settings etc. I have been impatient to move on and start the Foundations Course. Then I look at the notes I have taken while going through this exercise and there are so, so many best practices that Process Driven have highlighted and this will give me a super leg up when I start onboarding other people on the team as I have perspective of what other folks might not get straight away, or what might be best to set up in advance so they don’t have to worry about it.

In particular that how to start and how to end your day in ClickUp is a really good way of taking all the theory and turning it into a picture of what someone may end up doing when they sit at their desk.

I also appreciated all the links to secondary resources so I could deep dive into the various topics – it slows progress through the course, but worth it for those looking for the insight.
