Jeanne is a phenomenal writing instructor and mentor and has elevated my writing to a new level. After taking a long break from writing, I signed up for a writing course with Jeanne and I have never looked back. I’ve taken numerous courses with Jeanne and she has become a wonderful mentor and friend.

Jeanne teaches from experience and has so much passion for sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. She provides a variety of examples and tools that she’s created to teach the fundamentals of story structure and the writing craft. She facilitates discussion of what works by having us dissect texts of successful authors and applies the techniques to the craft lessons. The writing exercises she assigns help solidify the objectives of each course. Jeanne fosters an environment of learning through an open and inclusive space, and we discover as writers how to hone our own style and voice.

Jeanne has a supportive and positive approach to providing feedback on your writing. She provides detailed comments on your work, including what is working well and how you can improve, pushing you to be a better writer. I participated Jeanne’s critique groups with other writers and reading others’ work and receiving feedback on my own has enhanced my writing skills.

In addition to helping others do their best in their own craft, Jeanne is a prolific author and practices what she teaches in her own writing career. With years of experience learning and teaching, Jeanne truly knows the ins and outs of what makes an excellent story and wants to share this knowledge with her students.

I believe the greatest gift Jeanne gives her students and the authors she works with is the ability to support them on their journey to pursue their writing dreams, whatever they may be.
