Making a commitment to live in a Lifestyle Retirement Village can be daunting and
nervy. Questions that come to mind are, do I have enough money? Do I need help to shift?
Will I lose contact with my friends? Will my family and close friends still visit me?
What personal effects do I take with me and what do I do with the leftovers? Will I be
cared for if something happens?
Put all the negative thoughts behind you and go for it! Questions that need to be answered will be done by reasonable people who run the Lifestyle Village! Do your own research and ask the questions and making your mind up with be rewarding! Suddenly you will enter into a whole new lifestyle! You move into a Villa or Apartment that is warm and modern with all facilities close by – libraries, movie theatre, restaurant, sports, gym, swimming pool and spa, walking areas, indoor live singing, line dancing, card playing, happy hour, pool & snooker – you’re next to golf clubs, outdoor bowls etc. Gee! What else? Life is what you make it – read books, painting, walking, bike riding, do nothing or some gardening? Travelling knowing your property is safe! ‘you are in control’
You will meet people or friends you have not seen for such a long time and you can’t remember their names! Wouldn’t it be great to go over old times! You will meet people of similar backgrounds and become friends!
A lot of Mums and Dads out there are wanting to leave something for their children when they move on, but nearly all children these days want their parents to have a relaxed and simple lifestyle. The Village lifestyle does that!
Moving because of family loss? You may find someone like you who may become a companion and help you walk your way through life with outings, a glass of wine or coffee. Life is interesting – your future is ahead of you!”Diane Strawbridge
It took me a while to settle in due to Bills passing. Now however, I enjoy being able to leave the house and know when I return everything is safe. I have experienced immediate help from Management when I have had a few hiccups – like changing fire alarms, and light bulbs. I love not having to worry about lawns and gardens. I have met some lovely people. I am not keen on the monthly dinners as it is always cold and every meal taste the same.”

After living in beautiful homes on the waterfront and rural, we can’t think of anywhere else we would rather be than at The Palms Lifestyle Village. From the lovely, helpful and generous owners and their amazing staff to the cross section of interesting and friendly people we live with, we could not be more happy. We are like a big family here in our gorgeous Villas and Apartments with an array of activities and social functions provided for us. We live in a very caring Community and look out for each other. Many of the Residents are on their own and feel safe in this environment. The palatial lounge, bar and restaurant are a great place to meet and are very well used. We both hope we can continue to live here for many more happy years to come.”

After surveying other Villages in the area, I decided quickly on buying into The Palms in 2020, mostly because of its pleasantness and attractiveness, also the amount of facilities available that can be used at one’s leisure. I was welcomed into the centre right away and found people very considerate and friendly. I would recommend anyone to move in and enjoy.”

I really like living in my lovely sunny home, I loved it from when I first saw it in
September 4 years ago with the sun shining in! I enjoy working in my flower garden and although I am not a very good gardener people do make comments about it! I also like living on the bus route as I don’t drive and that is very handy.”Laurel Tucker
I have been in The Palms Lifestyle Village for 9 years and have enjoyed the
friendships I have made. Everyone makes you feel very welcome. I have enjoyed the dinners we have every month and the lovely lunches. The activities are great, I love the exercises, table tennis, outdoor bowls, line dancing and our sing for fun. Since I lost my husband last year I have felt very safe living in this lovely village.M & J Taylor
Well designed and built homes with park like gardens. Pleasant and helpful management and staff.
Great library, pool, café, hairdresser, massage, movie theatre, outdoor bowls and pétanque area. Caring neighbours. We have been here for 10 years, and it was a good decision.Yvonne and George Wynne
When the time came to select retirement venue, our decision was The Palms
Lifestyle Village. From the day we moved into our sunny spacious villa we have found a lifestyle well
beyond expectations, from the activities, cuisine, etc. plus the friendly atmosphere provided by staff and fellow residents. It was a wise decision with no regrets.”Connie
I chose the Palms Lifestyle Village because of family, location and safety.
After my husband passed away, I wanted to be closer to my family. Since moving here, I have always had someone to chat to and am never alone. I just love it here and have no regrets!
The companionship is great – I’ve formed wonderful friendships here, which is really important as I’m on my own.
I like knowing that I’m in a safe environment. I also LOVE that I don’t have to worry about maintenance! Gardens are all taken care of, and I haven’t had to clean my windows in years! As it’s all taken care of!Dave & Vicki
Just want to say that The Palms Lifestyle Village is a great place to be! We are absolutely loving it here.

I moved into The Palms 4.5 years ago and I wish I had done it years before. I live in a beautiful and safe environment, and I have met and made many new friends. There are plenty of activities in our Community Centre so I have a very active lifestyle. You can do as little or as much as you want, and everybody is very friendly.

Life at The Palms is ideal for me. There are lots of activities on offer, and there is freedom to travel without the worry about the house or the garden. I love our swimming pool and movie theatre! I’m so glad I made the decision to move here while I’m still active and I’m able to enjoy the benefits.

Some time during 2015, my husband Barry suggested we have a look at The Palms Lifestyle Village. My first reaction was “I don’t want to live ‘in there’”; thinking it was some sort of institutional type of living.
We made an appointment and met with management, Daniel and Rochelle, who showed us around (our then much smaller) beautiful village. We were both really blown away. How naïve and wrong my first reaction was.
We initially bought and moved to Villa 100 in 2016, with the understanding we would move to Villa 95 (which was then being used as the Community Centre). Once the amazing new centre was built and Villa 95 was redesigned and completed in 2019, we moved into our fabulous new home which we just love. The grounds and facilities have many available options to join in and enjoy as much or as little as one would want to participate in.
We really enjoy living here at The Palms, feeling secure, reconnecting with old friends, and meeting new ones. We certainly have never regretted our move.Betty
I moved into The Palms Lifestyle Village 9 years ago. I soon found out it was the right place to move. I had come from a farming and teaching background, but I soon made friends here. You see people around walking or taking part in the many activities that have been made available to us. It is up to individuals whether you wish to take part in these activities.
Management have provided us with a wonderful Community Centre which is well finished and laid out. In fact, one of my grandsons is quite sure I have moved into a resort. We have an in-house caterer who provides wonderful lunches + dinners. He even delivers meals on wheels during the week. Our movie theatre is the envy of many of my visitors. We have movies twice a week and there is no charge!
I really think I am very lucky to have moved here. The homes are well built with top quality amenities and lots of storage. Windows, gardens, and lawns are all taken care of. It is a delight to walk around the village to see all the gardens and even boats being sailed on the lake at the back of the village.Darren Welson

Quite good I live here .Lot to do if you are so inclined including indoor swimming pool, a really nice cinema which shows two different films each week which you can select (not all the films are my choosing) great meals served up around once a month which are on par with outside restaurants( really good value eat as much as you want. Really nice dining facilities. Catering more for the retired clientele with outside guests allowed in.
