We recently attended a welding workshop with Nigel from Qualitig, and it was one of the best experience days we’ve ever had! We gained so much knowledge in just one day and had an incredible amount of fun along the way. Before the workshop, Nigel checked in with us to see how he could personalise the day to suit us best — we were even able to bring our own welder, which made the experience even more relevant and practical. Nigel was kind enough to allocate the entire day specifically to TIG welding, as we’d recently bought a TIG welder and wanted to gain more hands-on knowledge, along with tips for our single-spine stair project. Nigel is not only a patient and supportive teacher, but also a genuinely great person. His passion for welding and teaching really shines through, and he made us feel confident and comfortable throughout the entire session. We highly recommend Nigel — whether you’re looking to improve your welding skills or just want to try something new and exciting, this workshop is an amazing experience. Brilliant! Answered all my questions. As the description to the course says learnt about MIG and TIG welding and the difference between them. Also about iron and aluminium welding. I had loads of live demos and was able to try out MIG and TIG welding on aluminium and steel! Great tutor! Thanks Nige!
Nige this week undertook two TIG welding jobs on the engine of my vintage Triumph Bonneville - a repair to the main bearing housing and replacement of a damaged cylinder head fin. He invited me to stay and watch while he did the work and it was fascinating watching his skills with the welding gear. I am delighted with the finished result - the guy is certainly very capable! And to cap it off, he's a nice bloke too!!
I sent a badly damaged 70s Ducati cylinder head for hopefully some repairs to the cooling fins which has been smashed off in an early 80s RTA. I was speechless when I saw the finished item with the cooling fins built up and made to look as though they had been there for 40+ years. The quality and attention to detail is simply amazing especially as the only reference were some photos. I have a spare set of unobtainable crank cases that I’ll be sending to Nigel to work his wonders on and I’m 100% confident they will come back looking perfect once more. Highly recommended and great value.

Nige repaired a storm damaged aluminium awning pole from a 40yr old unique American RV that just wasn’t replaceable. He didn’t just repair it quickly and at a brilliant price but allowed me to watch and learn at the same time.

Nige did a fantastic job on my Royal Enfield Flying Flea cylinder head. I had 3 broken fins on my head. I posted my head as I live in Gosport but I could have taken it to him and he would have done it whilst I waited. He sent photos of the completed job and I received it back in the post a couple of days later. His welding was to a very high standard and it was a pleasure to do business with him.I would highly recommend him.
I discovered Nige @ Qualtig welding online, we swapped a couple of messages & photos, and we quickly arranged to meet in the week. So far so good.
I arrived early and Nige helped me to find his workshop, it was spotless, well lit and equipped. As we discussed the job in hand it was clear he is a guy the knows his stuff, and loves it too!
I spent the next hour chatting as well as getting my job completed.

I went along to Qualitig with the job in hand. He proceeded with a masterclass of tig welding techniques relative to this application - demonstrating and involving me along the way.
I was so impressed by his skill, professionalism & capability I highly recommend this company.I was looking for a practical TIG training session to get me started, and Nige delivered that perfectly with lots of laughs and fun along the way 😄 He showed me some of his motorcycle reconstruction and repair work which looked like new, and would trust him to work his magic on anything that needed welding. I took my motorcycle exhaust to Nige at Qualitig for some welding. I have to say, if you're looking for quality welding from someone who really knows what he's doing, I wouldn't look anywhere else. The neatness of the weld was such that no grinding back will be necessary before I have the exhaust rechromed.
A great guy too - highly recommended.Nige repaired an aluminium boost pipe for my old car that was no longer available new or used, getting my workhorse back on the road when there was no other solution. He turned the tricky job around in a few days and the quality of workmanship was excellent, taking the time to discuss up front potential solutions for the repair. Top class guy with top class skills!
Anyone reading the reviews please take this as gospel I had no option I couldn’t get a second hand case for my motorcycle the only chance I had was to buy a full engine at £1300 until I made a phone call
After a brief call and a photo over WhatsApp the sleepless nights was over not only was I filled with relief but full confidence just a few days later the engine case that was smashed and cracked was not just in one piece it was far better than I could’ve imagined this man is a artist an artist with metal his energy and knowledge is incredible when you are faced with total defeat and someone says I can do that your life changes if you are in need of help weather it’s a small project or a hard to get engine casing the workmanship is outstanding a big thank you from SimonAnother 5* review and recommendation without hesitation.
I had been struggling to find someone who could weld repair my motorcycle cylinder barrel and the project had been floundering until I found Nige at Qualitig.
From the outset he was positive and enthusiastic about taking the job on. We agreed on a convenient time to visit and it was a pleasure to watch him at work. The quality of his work was great but it is his attitude and helpfulness that takes it to another level again.

Nige welded my strut housings for my Datsun 240Z and did a fantastic job. It was great talking with him as he worked and of course his welding quality was top-notch. I will definitely be bringing any more parts that need welding to him, and hopefully if I get another TIG welder soon I’ll be back to learn from him and improve my own quality!
Had a task of modifying my motorbike Centre stand, luckily found Nige. He carried out the task perfectly. Task involved shorting and adjusting the length and position of the Foot lever. Reattaching all together by welding together. The finished word was perfect. Nige was very professional , honest with integrity. Price for the Job was cheaper than i expected. Would definitely take any jobs back to Qualitig.
Thank you Nige for showing me how to weld for the whole day as part of your welding workshops. I had a brilliant experience and now feel way more confident with tools in general. It's less intimidating when you are working with a pro at your own pace. Thanks for being super supportive and patient with me. The tunes you played took complete pressure away from the day and you've converted me into an ABBA fan. Can't wait to book in another day with you and work on something that I need repairing.
Nige is an awesome guy and great trainer with a lot of patience and you can tell he loves what he does by the amount of care and attention he puts in to make your experience great. Plus some of his repairs he was showing me are outstanding.
