Any company can offer services, but Ted Hamm Insurance consistently goes above and beyond being just a service business—they are a family business that cares about me and my family. I’m not just an account on the end of the phone. When I call they always greet me as if I had lunch with them yesterday. They know my name, my circumstances, my kids’ names and that I have a farm and chickens.
They don’t bounce you around from person to person. Not once have they said, ‘Sorry, I don’t know the answer’… it’s always been, ‘Sorry, I don’t have the answer BUT I will do the research and find out for you’. And, get this, they actually do find out and call you back!!
They are professional, knowledgeable and thorough. They are responsive and reliable. More importantly (at least for me), they always have time to listen to me and make me feel like my needs are the most important thing to them. They are good, caring people and I will stay with them as long as they will keep me.Shannon Swensson is such a pleasure to work with! I have worked with Shannon at Ted Hamm Insurance for a few years. This year my insurance carrier canceled my homeowners and Ranch insurance because like many companies they felt we live in a high fire risk area. Shannon worked endlessly to look for options, She and Chris helped me review all the my choices, both theirs, and the ones I found. I have had nothing but positive experience with Ted Hamm insurance agency. I have been a client since 2003. I never had to make a claim until just recently and was concerned my rates would increase or worse yet get cancel.
I made the claim submitted appropriate documentation, within a week the check arrived at my home. I am still insured by Ted Hamm without a rate increase.

Insurance companies in California are becoming more and more difficult to deal with. A couple of years ago I switched over my commercial policy to Tedd Hamm Insurance Agency. I just renewed my policy, and while it was a team effort, it was Wendy who really kept after it, she set me up with the insurance that I needed and saved me money on top of it. Our family received a Christmas surprise we didn't think we wanted until we got it. Our gift was linking up with Dawn Jackson and the Ted Ham Insurance Agency based in Paso Robles. Our longtime agent was retiring and the insurance we were with gave notice they were not renewing or writing homeowners insurance in our area. They gave us three months to find and secure another. During the busy holidays before New Year's I called several area brokers and left messages what I needed. Dawn was the only one that called me back before 2025 replaced 2024. She said she could help and would find us new insurance. She had an easy check list for us to fill out. I called my Paso Robles financial advisor, Andrea and Kevin Klipfel - (note - we live in Morro Bay by the way!) and asked if she knew Ted Hamm and indeed, she did and they were clients. Big sigh of relief! I knew I would be fine and so turned away the two others that finally called back. Meanwhile Dawn got right on the task, always communicated when I had a question, and found us homeowners insurance for our California home and rental. Yes, our rates went up, but this is California and the LA fires happened as Dawn was searching. A month before our former homeowners was to lapse, we signed papers, processed paperwork with the new agencies, and by the due date had new insurance. For us it was seemless. Dawn made it much easier than I had anticipated - even translating some of the insurance jargon I didn't quite understand. We are now on a new journey with Tedd Hamm Insurance Agency and we look forward to their continued good service - if and when we need it.

Last month, got a rock into our windshield which cracked it (Audi with heads-up display, so not cheap) on a long drive home from Vegas. While on the drive we called the agency and actually got the owner (Chris). He got us going on the claim, followed up with Travelers, followed up with us again later and before we even reached home we had an appointment to replace the glass the next week. All went smooth, and the easiest claim I’ve ever had or could imagine. Then Dawn from the agency called to make sure it got all taken care of correctly. Amazing service.
